Just for Fun: Beautiful custom TREE Mailboxes
These won’t keep your mail safe from criminals, but we have to admit, they are beautiful… and apparently they will hold their own against a baseball bat!
These mailboxes are hand-crafted by Hemet resident Gary Son.
From the Press-Enterprise:
“Son, whose regular trade is plastering homes, sculpts the tree by bending steel rods of rebar that are anchored in the ground. He covers the framework with metal diamond mesh and then sprays on colored concrete that matches the tones of a tree. He carves grooves in the wet concrete that look like the texture of bark.”
As far as decorative mailboxes go, we think these are pretty cool!
would love one
As a small business, mailbox security is high priority to us. We bought a Mailboss several yrs ago. It’s a good box but the locks sucked! Within a year out in the elements the locks and keys would begin to disagree…..I’m a construction guy so it was easier for me than for most to drill them out and get a replacement. Mailboss replaced the locks faithfully but it was still enough of a hassle that I considered replacing the entire unit.
But I hung tough while more than once saying “I can’t WAIT until they upgrade these locks!”
Now they have…… Great locks too….. GOOD JOB MAILBOSS!!! I’m telling my friends.
I really enjoy the blog post.Really looking forward to read more. Much obliged.
The growing trend of identify theft is very worrying and you should take as many precautions as possible to prevent your mail from being stolen from your letter box. In remote areas letter boxes may be situated at the end of long drives and cannot be seen from the house giving a potential thief a further opportunity to steal your mail.
