Steel Mailboxes Offer Superior Quality and Security

The best material to use in a true security locking mailboxes is heavy-duty galvanized powder-coated steel. When you really think about it, this is no surprise. When is the last time you saw an aluminum or plastic bank vault? Have you ever heard a manufacturer of safes or locks taut the security virtues of aluminum or plastic? Of course not.

Many so called “security locking mailboxes” are made of thin (18-22 gauge) metal, aluminum, and even plastic. Some manufacturers of these products advertise their products as being more corrosion resistant than an all-steel box. While this may be true to some extent, who cares if your mailbox becomes a family heirloom if it does not do what it was intended to do… protect your mail from would-be identity thieves.

Every Mail Boss product is not just galvanized (dipped in zinc), but electro-galvanized. This is an electro-chemical process that covers the cold rolled steel more completely and thicker with zinc than just a zinc dip can ever do. Then every product is powder coated (another electro-chemical process) which provides a much harder, durable, scratch resistant finish than pain. Powder-coating is a sought after finish on any metal product that may be exposed to harsh environmental factors.

Since the technology exists to make cold rolled steel as weather resistant as aluminum or plastic, the argument for the use of inferior strength products like aluminum and plastic becomes nonsensical. Every curb-side Mail Boss security locking mailbox is made of only 12 and 14 gauge steel. Weighing in at almost 40 pounds, the difference can be felt when you pick up the steel MailBoss.

Yup, couldn’t agree more. And I’d like to add that you’ve got a great colour scheme on your site, I suffer with colour blindness and many webmasters don’t give us a second thought!
